JOB DETAILS: Hourly Pay: $18.00 hourly (negotiable) $5,000 SIGN-ON BONUS: (First $2,500 payable after the successful completion of the first 6 months of service. Additional $2,500 payable after the successful completion of the first year of service.) Responsibilities include patrolling Town Limits, responding to calls, servicing civil and criminal court papers, providing first aid and CPR, providing traffic control, testifying in judicial proceedings, completing all required reports and forms, and performing other related duties as assigned. Knowledge Required for This Position: Knowledge of relevant federal and state laws, criminal and traffic codes, search and seizure laws, judicial procedures, Town ordinances, and department policies and procedures. Knowledge of criminal and traffic investigation techniques and procedures. Knowledge of geography and streets of the Town. Skill in CPR techniques, operating police vehicles, firearms, computers, and emergency equipment. Qualifications: APOST certification required, minimum 21 years of age, high school diploma, US Citizen, no felony convictions, must pass a physical and fitness test, must pass a drug test, must pass a rigorous background check.
